Christmas lights on our house

I did not have to decorate at all this year. The girls did everything.

Okefenokee pics - Christmas 2005

I know. A year late on these pics. Last year at this time we headed out just before Christmas on a short vacation. We stayed two nights in Stephen Foster State Park (Okefenokee Swamp) in a 2 bedroom cabin Dec 22 and 23.

We drove to Ft. Lauderdale on Christmas Eve and visited the King Tut exhibit on Christmas morning.

We drove up to the Cape that afternoon and visited the Kennedy Space Center.
(and we managed to visit Florida without visiting Walt Disney World - boo hoo!)

More pics later. The following pics are from Dec 22 in the middle of Okefenokee Swamp.

Be Aware - Alligators Present!? The sign does not lie!

Boardwalk through the swamp

The water really is tea coloured.

Bear Encounter!

We were visited by a Mama Bear and her cub that same afternoon.

Here is a short video of Louisa watching the bears.

That evening after dinner, we popped some popcorn in our cabin. A few minutes later we heard a horrible racket at our side door. We looked out to discover Mama Bear clawing at our door. I used the remote for the car horn to scare her away.

Louisa working on the ghost line. This year I had almost no input on decorations. The girls took over everything.

Halloween - 2006

We had 11 girls in the "pod" this year. Here are some of them. This was by far the largest group trick or treating in the neighborhood.

Louisa was unable to decide on a costume this year and ended up wrapping herself in a blanket.

The girls have never gone this far on Halloween before. Louisa and Taylor want to go down the "big hill". Everyone else is starting to get tired.

Halloween - 2006

Elaborate decorations in the front yard of the house that invariably recieves the "Best Yard" award in the neighborhood.

This was at the bottom of a large hill and the girls pooped out right after we visited this house. I had to drag Madison and Mary UP that durn hill in the wagon (helped by Madison's mom, who pushed the wagon)
