Hank Aaron - 715th Home Run Memorial

On May 10th I had a chance to go to only the second Major League Baseball game I have ever seen. (The first was to the old Comiskey Park in 1990).

I made it a point to visit the spot where Hank Aaron hit his record breaking 715th Home Run. The site of the old Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium is now a parking lot of the Atlanta Braves Turner Field.

The layout of the original baseball diamond is outlined in bricks in the parking lot. The part of the wall that the famous home run went over is preserved. The blue walls are the base of the original stadium (which was imploded after the 1996 Olympics)

Pet Leporidae for the girls

Marie saw this Dwarf Holland Flop Ear bunny listed on the local Freecycle on Tuesday.
He was listed because the family that had him discovered they were allergic.

She picked him up without telling any of us. Surprise!
I got home to Julia telling me that there was something in her room that I needed to look at.

Our pet count is now 4 cats, a gerbil, 2 rats and a rabbit.

The rabbit gets along fine with the cats and the rats!

Julia will explain the rabbit's name below...



We named him Brownie Bear Bartlett-Sloan.
Brownie is obvious. Bear because his claws look like bear claws.

Officially a teenager!

Louisa turned 13 today.

We celebrated in a low key way with lunch at Golden Corral with best friends and a 2 layer chocolate cake made by 9 year old Mary.

I took Mary, Louisa, Janét, and Taylor to the Year of the Pig Celebration at the Atlanta Chinese Community Center on Feb 17, 2007. We met our friend Sandy and one of her two daughters, Alana, there.
