Lake Winnie - May 6, 2006

For a couple of weeks we kept telling the girls that we were going to be attending a seminar on Physics in Chattanooga that was geared towards families.

Awwww Dad! Do we have to go?

Yes! You'll love it! Trust me.

So, reluctantly, we made the hour and a half drive up to Chattanooga on Saturday May 6.
Julia had an idea that we had been pulling their legs, as she caught a glimpse of a printed out web page.

Still, they expressed delight as we pulled up to Lake Winnie amusement park http://www.lakewinnie.com

There was no seminar. Just a fun outing for the family.

Mary decided she was not going to ride anything at all, so she sat it out with me.
She changed her mind later.

Lake Winnie - may 6, 2006 - The Cannon Ball Roller Coaster

I've been a coaster nut since I was 12. I pointed out the park's big old Woodie "The Cannon Ball" (1967 John Allen) while we took the miniature train ride.


Hooray! I was able to drag Julia and Louisa on it. A few minutes later I had coaster nut daughters.

Lake Winnie - May 6, 2006 - Mary drives a car and Juweesa on Scrambler

Mary drives the Hanson car around the entire course. We end up passing the Scrambler while her sisters are riding it.



The Park was not very crowded so we were able to walk from the Hanson car ride over to the Scrambler and snap some pics while the girls were still riding. Louisa grins at the camera. That's the top of Julia's head.

Lake Winnie - May 6, 2006 - Genie (Round Up)

Louisa and Julia loved riding the Round Up (which the park calls "The Genie").
In the video below, the miniature train comes by as we pan to find Louisa and Julia waiting for the ride.

Lake Winnie - May 6, 2006 - Tilt a Whirl

Julia on the Tilt-a-Whirl. She rode it twice and the second time she rode it, she decided to ride alone while her sisters slid down the Giant Slide.
The video below has her delighted squealing.
